Quiet, Pastoral, Nestled in the Woods…Vinecroft has a setting that is outstanding for peace and serenity. Yet within just minutes you will find world class dining, enough shopping to satisfy the discriminating shopping divas, a hospital, doctors, movies, theater- just about anything you need to live a full and gracious life. Active seniors truly appreciate our location and its accessibility to those things they find important in life. Vinecroft began as a dream of some local church members who wanted a community that offered an upscale, yet not overstated life for their parents and that is affordable to the middle class seniors so abundant in this area. Vinecroft is adjacent to the town of Amherst and gives easy access to familiar surroundings and roadways. Our place in the world. Vinecroft has always placed an emphasis on community involvement and has established relationships with school children from the Little Red Schoolhouse as well as Buffalo Suburban Christian Academy. Encouraging residents to remain active in the community is seen in fund raisers for several organizations including WNY Alzheimer’s Association, Cornerstone Manor, The March for Babies and many other local organizations. Life Balance. Life at Vinecroft is meant to maintain a balance of meeting our residents needs while not being in the way of their independence. Vinecroft residents see the staff as a source that can be turned to for the help they may need while knowing they are free to do for themselves whatever they may choose. Even simple things like keeping housekeeping requests up to date so that the work that is accomplished has input from the residents can give someone a sense of control over their daily life. Activities at Vinecroft are resident driven. Our Activity Director listens to what residents would like to do, then makes the arrangements for them. Day trips, plays, movies- just a few weeks ago a bunch of ladies and gents went out together- and got manicures and pedicures- talk about a varied menu of activities! Vinecroft is blessed with active gentlemen who like to “hang out” and shoot pool and also have their own dining club- The Romeo’s (Retired Old Men Eating Out). Not to be outdone are the Juliets (Just Us Ladies Idly Enjoying Talk). Keeping the mind active is crucial to any activity program, hence our book club and discussion group meet on a regular basis to stimulate the mind and the memory. Our discussion group offers a wide variety of topics, from a study of the Civil War to the Age of Jazz. Keeping the mind-body connection is also important, so exercise is also offered in a weekly class and Wii bowling. Our large campus offers our residents the ability to walk safely throughout our community. Service IS Our Business. Our services are exceptional. Vinecroft offers a full restaurant style menu that changes weekly, offering our residents one of the largest choices of entrees each day among senior living facilities. Our chef and his staff welcome suggestions and will go out of their way to accommodate requests whenever possible. Our apartment residents benefit from an outstanding system for transportation. Shopping, doctors, hair appointments, legal appointments, rides to religious services are all included in their fees. For a nominal fee even rides to social activities can be provided. Personal assistance is always available to help out with those little things, like placing a phone call for someone with hearing difficulties, or placing an on-line order for our residents who are not computer savvy. Staff can be available to accompany someone to a medical appointment to be a reassuring presence when family cannot be there. Now is the Time Everyone who works in senior housing has heard the words
“I’m just not ready” and our answer is “Ready
for what? The real answer is that the senior is not ready to deal with
the task of cleaning out a home and getting it ready. So to help, Vinecroft
offers our Home Sweet Home 1..2..3.. Moving Services. Help is provided
with all aspects of the move; from packing and sorting, to putting your
home on the market and engaging the services of a moving company so all
of the work and worry is removed making it so much easier for everyone. “The thought of moving can become a hurdle to the mind. Downsizing seems an overwhelming task. However, when those things were completed I found it very freeing not to have all my former responsibilities. With all Vinecroft’s amenities it’s a relief to have someone else do most of the chores so I can enjoy the independence of living here. One of my main reasons for coming to Vinecroft was socialization. Living alone especially in the winter months can be very isolating. Therefore, it is nice to step out of my apartment to interact with staff or other residents. Yet, I can be as involved with all of the many activities offered as I wish. Sometimes it’s just nice to have quiet time in my own apartment with music or a book. I still use my car for all my appointments. However, I participate in group van activities such as a concert at Kleinhans, a day at the Botanical Gardens or a special place for lunch. When I stop driving it is comforting to know that my needs will be met because I can rely on van transportation for medical appointments, shopping, etc. For me the move to Vinecroft has been a good transition in fulfilling my needs at this point in my life” For a tour of your next home, please call Rosemary at (716) 741-7741…you’ll be so glad that you did! |
