Niagara Towers
has been in the community since the early 1980’s and are located
near the corner of 10th and Cedar Avenue. Our location is ideal for residents
with or without transportation. We are situated within a city block and
it is only a short walking distance to Tops Supermarket, Rite-Aid Drug
Store, Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital, Blockbuster Video, Donut Shop,
and Arby’s Restaurant. The banks and the post office are within
a few blocks and many other businesses.
Because security is such an important issue today, we have
installed security cameras in the building to monitor the building and
the individuals entering and exiting. We are able to record 24 hours a
day. Another step we have undertaken to increase our level of security
here at Niagara is to eliminate the key required to enter the front security
door.
Niagara Towers is a concrete structure high rise with 12
apartments on each floor. We have a total of 200 units in our building.
The two elevators in our building have been upgraded since they were originally
installed when the building opened. The front entry doors now have push-button
automatic openers. Our resident apartments are freshly painted before
move-in. Each apartment has a living/dining room, kitchen, full bedroom
and bath. All apartments have ample closet space, which includes a large
bedroom closet with shelves at one end, a spacious storage closet at the
entry door and a clothing closet. Each apartment has its own electric
stove and two door, frost free refrigerator. There are large sliding glass
windows in both the living room and bedroom, with white thermal draperies
and horizontal blinds to keep the sun out.
Our resident apartments are fully carpeted in both living/dining
room and bedroom. The kitchen and bathroom have tiled floors. Cable connection
is available for a monthly fee. Each apartment has emergency pulls in
both the bedroom and bath, a smoke detector, a deadbolt lock and a peek-hole
on the entry door. We also have an air-conditioned laundry room with cable
TV on the second floor for resident use.
During the warmer weather, a freestanding air conditioner
is permitted in individual resident apartments if it meets the specifications
as set by management. There is a minimal monthly charge assessed for use
of air conditioners. Outside we have picnic benches, outside grill, wooden
swing gliders and seating areas available for the residents and their
families.
Ample designated parking is available for residents and
visitors. The fire department is located just around the corner for quick
response in time of need.
The residents are also encouraged and welcomed to make use
of the Golden Age Office on the first floor. They schedule activities
and make other support available to our residents. There is also a prayer
group that meets on a regular basis in our community room.
Located toward the front of the building is a newly remodeled
sitting room with cable television. Niagara Towers also has a newly remodeled,
large air-conditioned community room on the first floor, which contains
a small kitchen for residents to use and a library area in the back portion.
There is exercise equipment located in a back corner section for resident
use. BINGO is played in the community room every Tuesday and Thursday
afternoon. We have pop and snack machines available in the community room.
A ventilated smoking room has recently been added at the back of the community
room.
The Niagara Nutrition Program serves meals Monday through
Friday. This program is open to all residents in the building and their
families. Family members need to sign up ahead of time, and can join the
resident for lunch at Niagara. The residents are asked to voluntarily
donate $2.00 for their meal if they are able to do so. Resident’s
family members are charged a $3.50 fee.
A security deposit is required before move-in; the deposit
is equivalent to one months rent. Niagara Towers is under the Section
8 government subsidized rent program. Residents are allowed to have one
small pet. A pet deposit is required for either a dog or cat.
We now have an electronic key fob system. Residents have
an encoded key fob assigned to them. If they are unable to find their
key fob, their encoded number can be removed from the electronic system
and the key will then be void and will no longer allow entry to the building.
The resident can then be given a new encoded key for the front door for
a fee of $25.00. This new system will assure greater resident security.
Because we are a private housing community, we are not related
or associated with the Niagara Falls Housing Authority. Application must
be made directly through Niagara Towers Rental Office, not at the Housing
Authority. Be sure to give us a call to see if you qualify for an apartment
and can benefit from the affordable housing we offer. Our rent structure
is based on the same program rates as the Housing Authority.
